Meet Rhys - NGC Student Spotlight

Rhys is a young man who isn’t afraid of hard work. As a member of our 2019 graduating class, he’s come a long way since he enrolled with NG Central in 2017. Not only has he completed his Year 12 and sat his Science HSC exam, he’s recently been hired as a full-time landscaping apprentice. Talk about a high-achiever! But in Rhys’s words, he didn’t always feel positive about his education and what lay beyond it. He found the traditional classroom environment challenging and craved a more practical approach. “I found school before NGC really hard, I’d struggle to focus and I couldn’t sit and concentrate with so many people in the class.” Because of these challenges, Rhys became involved in the L

Look up the definition of ‘go-getter’ in the dictionary and we bet you’ll find a photo of Jess. Jess has been part of our NG Central family for the last four years, commencing Year 9 with us in 2016. Throughout that time, she has been a conscientious student, an eager learner and a dependable team player. And now she’s reaping the rewards of her commitment! Bailey Gets A Job! Meet The Latest Landscaping Apprentice On The Block.

Meet Bailey; construction whiz, landscaper-in-training and all round go-getter! This Year 11 student recently joined the ranks of our NG Central alumni, when he was hired as a full-time Landscaping Apprentice. From his first year at NG Central in 2018, Bailey showed that he had tons of talent and enthusiasm when it came to vocational training. Like many of our students, he favoured practical, hands-on learning and skill development. Bailey was a total natural in the Construction workshop, taking on the VET subject for his preliminary HSC.
